Kite Aerial Photo Above Pharo Palace

This afternoon, a steady breeze over Marseille harbor allowed En Haut!, a Mauritania-based association, to demonstrate the capabilities of their remote-controlled cameras.

The angle of the camera can be changed from the ground, allowing for both vertical and slanting views.

Applications fall into two broad categories:

  1. Scientific and technical uses – cartography, digital modeling, erosion monitoring, landcover assessment…
  2. KAP also proves very handy during consultation with populations that don't have regular access to maps.

Slanting views especially provide them with more "natural", more easily understandable views of their environment.
