Support IUCN’s initiative to Save Mozambique's Dugongs

IUCN invites you to join and support its team for the 2013 swim across Lake Léman!!!

This year IUCN has decided to raise funds for a specific initiative, a conservation project of one of their flagship initiatives,SOS – Save Our Species:

“Saving Mozambique’s Dugongs”

Through this project, IUCN is seeking to protect the last remaining population of Mozambique’s dugongs, amazing marine mammals living in the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park in the Western Indian Ocean. Without regular patrols and enhanced law enforcement these gentle marine mammals remain at risk of extinction. The fundraising target of USD 10,000 will go a long way in securing much-needed protection for the dugongs whilst enhancing community engagement and providing sustainable tourism opportunities for local communities.

You can support the swimmers (IUCN staff and friends) in the following ways:

  1.  Donate to the project:http://www.givengain.com/cause/4798/projects/ and/or:
  2.  Spread the word about our project by sharing this pagehttp://www.givengain.com/cause/4798/projects/ with your networks.

They have been swimming across Lake Léman for the past seven years. This year’s swim will take place, depending on the weather, either on 20, 21 or 23 August.
